I'm on the market for a brand new house for myself. I found one, it's perfect, I just have to arrange for a good mortgage.

I've looked around and I see different rates with sometimes huge variation in interest rates(between companies)....even with today's prime.

Can you guys recommend brokers/agents/planners who can help me ease up this frustrating process? Who did you use before that was so good to be worthy of recommending?

Cheers! :D

Alex,

My mother did financial planning alogn with mortgages and personal loans for over 20 years. She can definatly help you in what you should look for etc. Give me a shout if you would like to talk with her (don't worry there is no charge lol).

yeah, I see all the fuzz about them with their "orange" mortgage, I'm just afraid that all they got is lemons.....see what I did there?

There's always a bigger drawback/string for these things for one, and second, there's no actual building you could talk to somebody face to face, for me there's no trust there; I understand they work like that to cut costs but still....why the hassle?

I can't talk over the phone either, you can't never tell a person by their voice.

I started my quest on a more serious note very well on my right foot on Sunday and I'm thankful to her for that, today I made my banker spill things he thought he'd never say to people other that his close relatives, greedy bastard; that just shows that regardless of how much business you do with one, one never appreciates enough in this business.

Multiple opinions count, it's up to me to figure out which is bs and which is not. and thank god for the net, I can easily verify everything I hear on daily basis.

All new contacts are still appreciated, the more educated I get the better of a decision I can make when the time is up.

Cheers! :D

I would be closing in 1 year; buying from the builder so I'm just shopping for better mortgage rates for now/planning for the future

The price tag is great as I don't think house prices will EVER drop under 200 k 6 months from now.

<200K in oakville , when 1999 ? yah , never again allright . anyone got any opinions about georgetown or guelph as milton is just too expensive not to mention oakville , lol !

the house I'm getting is in Milton. 220K and after deposits it's just under 200K for a mortgage. ;)

Milton is pretty good, especially if you buy brand new houses. Milton is getting populated now and will soon become close to expensive as Oakville, you just see; things will start to bloom there also. Only reason Oaks is so damn expensive is because of the damn pond.
