Any tips or suggestions on lubricating my doors? They squeek/rasp when opening. I tried putting some grease on the hinges with my finger but didn't seem to get good coverage. TIA.

I used White lithium Grease on mine. Seemed to work great for about 3 months then started sqeeking again.

That's about the only way you're gonna keep it from squeaking. Just do it as part of preventative maintenance.

That's what I used. My question more centers around how to apply it. Is there a better method than just using your finger and smearing it around the hinge?

I bought it in a can. I spray everything about every time i wash my car. Especially my antenna.

I use a clear silicone plumbers grease and it works good. I apply it with a q-tip or a finger. Currently for kicks I'm trying some spray on moly lube.

Haha just saw this thread...I did a thorough detail job today since it was crazy warm here in VA, including lubing all the doors, and yep, I used white lithium grease in the spray can too.

Maybe liquid wrench might work because its a penetrating lubricant.

I've always used the white lithium grease in a spray can, like everyone else, it works for about 3 months. The rear doors are the worst, they rarely get used.

i had a couple of tubes that go into a grease gun from a different project...i would just stick a q-tip in there and then smear the grease on the hinge (the one that slides into the actual door) on both sides.

Make sure it's lithium grease though

As far as how long it lasts...i'd say mine went more than 3 months, but i never really had too many people sitting in the back of my car.
