Knocking noise when braking

I have this wierd noise...its like a knocking or clatter type noise when I brake. I tried moving the wheels up/down and side to side...no play at all. I have new struts, and the brake pads look good. The brake pedal does not really pulsate...it sounds like its coming from the right front just under the floor boards...its like tock, tock, tock, tock, as you brake. More so when going slow than hard brakeing. You hear it more just before coming to a stop. Like thick metal on thick metal. Wheels spin freely on jackstands so I dont think its a caliper. Any ideas??? what it could be. Im gonna get new rotors, pads and check and lube the caliper sliders. Could it be maybe the driveshaft? I thought they show signs and more of a clicking noise

are these old brakes or new  one time I had the friction material come of the pad backing and make a noise like you described also check the wire form bail that holds the outside of the caliper

Is it different when you brake with the clutch in vs. with the clutch out?

Check the caliper mounting bolts to be sure one hasn't come loose. Look around the brakes and suspension up front for any signs of recent metal on metal contact. and any indications of a loose component or heavily worn bushings.

does your car have a "hop"-ing effect, maybe your rims are screwed up

second guess...warped rotors

the driveshaft would make that noise constantly, especially under heavy acceleration as I recall when i had that problem.

Hey guys, thanks...it turned out I replaced the front pads and rotors and rear caliper (siezed) and new rear rotors and pads. Must have been a warped front rotor, because I actually had no rear brakes with them being siezed up solid and all the braking was on the front and damaged the rotors. Thanks for the advice.
