I was just wondering if there was a difference between the SVT 5spd transmission and a stock contour 5spd transmission.

i think the only difference is a 19 lb flywheel on the svt instead of the 22lb on the stock(se) contour

Yes, the flywheel was different, but that's not inside the tranny so still, they are the same. Only the clutch and flywheel were different.
As long as the tranny is 98+ V6, it's the same. The differential in the early 98 transmission should be stronger like the one used in the Pre-98.

the pressure plate is different also since the SE would have had a Sach clutch and the SVT a Luk clutch. however they bolt up the same.
