When i floor it, it feels like the car doesnt have much power until around 4000 rpms. it feels kinda like a vtec or turbo kicks in compared to the pre-4000rpm power. it feels almost like a delayed reaction until around 4000rpms.

Its been like this since as long as i can remember, i kinda remember thinking it wasnt like that when i first got the car, but that was so long ago, i forget.

is this just the secondaries kicking in, or does it just not have much torque at the low end, or is my clutch slipping or is something else wrong?

are all SVTs like this?

it's probably the secondaries, only 170ftlbs or something, they sure do like being above 4000 though :)

Well, take this for what it's worth as I've never driven an SVT with non working secondaries, but from what i remember hearing people say, it sounds to me like that may be the case here. If I remember right the secondaries job is to help improve low end torque, but I'm tired and my brain is shut down too, lol. I'd start the car up, pop the hood and manually operate the tb, rev her up good and watch the secondary linkage to see if it moves.

it might be normal and it might not be. you are suppose to feel an increase on power around 4k rpm. This would be the secondaries openning up.

Now if they are stuck open then it will really be a dog below 4k rpm and run great above that point.

look under the tb for the linkage on the secondaries. when the car isn't running what direction do they point? towards the firewall they are closed and towards the radiator they are open. they should point towards the firewall.

Oh my goodness! My car is running the exact same way, I am going to check to see if my secondaries are stuck open as soon as I'm off work. If they were stuck open would I be pulling lean codes????

yes and no ,the secondaries being closed helps low end torque .at higher rpm when they open they help horsepower . torque = low rpm grunt horsepower = high rpm movement ablility in other words if the secondaries are open at low rpm the engine [motor's are electric] will fall on it's face.
