Anyone with indiglo gauges have an issue with them randomly turning off. This is the second time this has happened to me. The first time I just bought a new 6-color inverter and it seemed to fix the problem.

But it started up again. About 3 weeks ago, when I would turn my lights on the indiglos would turn on for a split second and then go off....all of them:HVAC, HL and gauges. Now they turn on but will turn off after being on for 20mins or so of being on and do not come back on. Even if I turn off my lights and back on they will not turn on. If I let it sit for a while and turn it back on it seems to work. For instance once I get to my destination turn off the car do what I have to do and get back into my car some time later they will come back on and then again 20mins later turn off. Whats the deal?

Is the converter going bad again? Any one else experience this?

The gauges are from the GB from here by the way http://www.streetracerparts.com/

Mine used to do the exact same thing. I replaced the inverter 3 times I think. Each time it would work good for a while, then start acting up. Like you said, it would take almost 20 minutes to "warm up" before they would stay on.

Eventually I removed them completely.

I'm going back to indiglos again in the next few weeks. I still have my old gauges and I'm ordering a new HVAC and HL panel from them. I've been working with them for a while to correct the HVAC panel blue lettering/symbols. They are no longer going to be printed in the ugly blue but black instead for a more stock looking setup.

sounds like a connection going bad or the converter is over heating or going bad ...

Thats what I thought too. Bunch of crap if you ask me. Lasts like 6 months and then you gotta buy a new one. Cost $22 each for the 6-color too.

We should both complain to them about the inverters. I wonder if they could give us some sort of warranty.

Im having a brain fart as to the color of the lettering on mine. So your saying the font on the gauges are black, but the HVAC and HL are Blue?? If so I may pick up another HVAC and/or HL as well.

The problem is I can't remember at all which inverter came from what. I had my original one from the gauges (which didn't come from them), I had one that I bought as a replacement, and also one from some Mustang indiglos I bought that never got installed.

And yes, the gauges look almost identical to stock. But the HVAC and HL panels were always printed with a white face and blue font. I couldn't stand how it looked so "aftermarket". I emailed them back and forth and got them to change the lettering to all black, except blue/red for the HVAC temp control. The HL switch is still the same with the blue/red, but it's such a small area that I can install it and no one would notice or I can just leave it out completely. Haven't decided yet.

FYI, if anyone wants to order these, specify in the comments that you want the new black font A/C panel, otherwise you'll get the old ones so they can clear out the remaining stock.

Well...both of mine were from them. The 6-color ones which run $22. Two have gone bad on me now . I will e-mail them about this issue and see if they can do anything.

Have you received the black font one yet? How does it look? Maybe I'll ask if I can get a black font HL while I'm at it

Nah, I've been meaning to order it for about a week now and I keep getting sidetracked with a million other things. The black font HL panel would be nice to complete the set, but it's such a small area that I didn't even bother to pursue it.

I had this problem with my gauges as well. Have you guys looked at the inverter wiring? I noticed on mine that the wires had an open circuit just before entering the inverter. If you wiggle the wires at that point you might be able to get them to come back on.

My fix was to strap down the inverter with tie straps and used electrical tape to hold down the wires going into the inverter to keep them from bouncing around. I had used electrical tape before but I don't think it was enough hence the tie straps the second time around (or third). It has been... probably about 6 months and I haven't had a problem (crossing fingers).

are these the gauges/inverter from the SRP group buy?

Well I'm bringing this post back to life.

My gauges just started flickering about 2 months ago. I have since just disconnnected the gauges from the inverter and I don't typically drive my car in the dead of night.

Did you guys get anywhere with the inverters?

I'm looking to buy a replacement.

Also to the above post I did not buy my gauges from the SRP group buy. I got the last set that was in stock from Aspec. They no longer make them.

I did have an inverter go out on my set too. They flicker and eventually stop working. I had to upgrade to a bigger one as I have 8 gauges on one inverter and I think it was just too much power draw from the smaller one.

Yea I think the SRP inverters are just junk. I went through 2 of the 6 color ones. I have 6 gauges and in order to make the all light evenly with the SRP inverter you had to do a crazy combination with the 4 original plugs and the extensions wires that gave me 4 more plugs.

Since the second one died I just put in a FAZE invertor that I originally bought for glow gauges for my A-pillar. I have not gotten A-pillar gauges yet and got tired of driving at night with no gauges so I decided to use the FAZE invertor. Well this one had only for original plugs also so I had to use the extension cord/plugs to get more. So I figured I would have to do some crazy combo like the SRP to light correctly and evenly but nope....just plugged them in at random and first try they all lit up perfect.
