I would not install any short shifter w/out reinforcing the weld for the "ball" at the very bottom of the shifter. I have broken both a "generic" and a B&M short shifter at that point. I'm not a gear slammer. My daughter broke the generic...and I broke the B&M when I had to pop-start my car after the starter died. Its a simple $15 fix to take it to a local machine shop or car place and have them weld the ball onto the arm more thoroughly versus the rear weld they use.
