epicpwn, just a tip, the number in your vin really doesnt mean anything. I'd guess that the total number of contours produced in each year are probably under 300,000. 620,835 isnt going to mean anything. Honestly.... unless you had a really low build number or did have a limited production vehicle, I wouldnt go putting a build number on your car. It's one thing to say your car is one of 2,150, but it isnt even worth mentioning that your car is 1 of 283,964 Even if you narrow it down by the options it was produced with, you arent going to see anything as limited production as SVTs. Not trying to get down on you or anything, I'm just saying.
Don't bother Ford with this petty stuff, you have to be kidding - right?
It goes to Ford customer relations. They don't mind this kind of stuff. It is like when groups ask for factory tours.
Ford loves it when people have a healthy interest in their vehicles.
They still wont be able to provide build numbers or anything else, just total production numbers for Ford contours. Like I said before, they dont keep record of the options, motors or transmissions they are equipped with, but we can interpolate those from other sources.
This is how I compiled the build totals for ford escorts.
of course, some other companies like GM do keep track of options as well.
