How safe would this be?

I have been able to replace a factory rear knuckle bushing up to only a 1/4 inch to go. I cannot finish with the tools I have so I need to get it to a garage about 15 miles away (highway). If I tighten the tie rod bolt all the way so it is connected as it should be, am I taking a chance ruining anything?? Also any hints on what I might be able to finish it at home....
