just wondering how much a full 3l motor swap would cost? for the work i have the motor?:shrug: just throwing it out there to save up and have it done in the near future if my 2.5 blows :P and average time it takes to complete it?

depends on the person, etc. forget a shop doing it as that would be pretty costly. best to find another ceger to do the work.

I am a bargain hunter and this is what I came up with for my build and I did all the work myself. Don't expect to find the deals I did but it should give you a good idea.
TOTAL BUILD COSTS=

-almost new napa starter ($60)
-almost new motorcraft alternator ($90)
-New ford ac compressor(ebay $50) and almost new drier(free, parts car)
-New svt clutch, pp, and TOB ($220)
-resurfaced svt flywheel ($40)
-2005 18k mile 3L delivered ($360 bay auto parts)
-bugzuki plates ($35)
-Livin built pre98 trans delivered (bartered: cash $235 labor+shipped, used 13" wilwood kit, and powder coating)
-new gaskets ($100ish)
-newly rebuilt 13" baer front kit with rotors ($500)
-New NPG rear kit with new rotors (bartered for powder coating)
-almost new e-brake cables (free, parts car)
-New MSDS headers (bartered for a mirko that I got for free)
-used MSDS Y pipe coated ($70 shipped)
-'01 cougar mount ($23)
-New DMD ($20)
-New stainless brake lines ($80)
-New PRT front roll resistor ($40)
-New PRT rear roll resistor (had that already)
-New moog sway bar end links ($28)
-New 4 bolt control arms with ball joints ($130)

add fluids and hardware prices to that as well

You also need: Autolite (App104) plugs (~$35) and...

Tools/Misc:
-Thread loctite ($4)
-RTV gasket maker ($6)
-Paper towels ($10)
-Depending on what you are using to modify the block you may need cutoff wheels or sazall blades ($10-20)
-jackstands ($30+)
-fuel line disconnects ($15)
-pulley puller ($30+)
-torque wrench ($50+)
-engine puller ($200+)
-32mm Axle socket ($20)
-General tools: sockets, screwdrivers, hammer, prybar, jack, etc ($$$)

Maintenance
items that usually need replacing:
-New set of OEM plug wires from Ford (~$60)
-New shift cables or shift cable ends ($20-70)
-Air filter or new intake ($20-$150)
-Y-pipe donut or gasket ($20)
-New nuts/bolts to replace seized y-pipe or exhaust bolts ($15)
