HLA testing.

Hey all,

Has anyone tested HLAs before? If so, do you have a link to the procedure?


This is my first OHC.

just compress it over and over, pump it up, thats it...if they are loud and annoy you then replace them, if they are still loud you have a pressure feed concern...

you normally have to use something to compress the check ball for the high pressure chamber at the very bottom.

Hydraulic Lash Adjuster. most people will refer to them as lifters but that is incorrect as their job is only to take up the valve lash in the rocker arm (not actually lift the valve) and its done using the engine oil pressure.

Gotcha... Also heard them called valve caps or valve buttons
