does anyone know how to install an HID kit to the day time running lights?
whats happenning is when the day time running lights are supposed to turn on, the "highbeam" light on gauge cluster blinks, but when i pull turn signal lever toward me for high beams, they work. and ideas?
sorry if repost, but i searched through old forums and came up with nothing.
thanks.

When the high beam indicator blinks, it means there is lower than expected voltage, i.e. one of the bulbs are burnt out or there is a wiring issue. In your case, it appears that it is a wiring issue. Check the wiring from the DRL relay (in the Power Distribution Box next to the battery) to the headlamps. In addition, check the wiring from the ignition to the PDB and the headlamp switch.

I thought it was bad to under power HIDs ... why would you have them installed in the high beam location and not the low beam?

Well wiring doesn't seem to be problem I don't think since day time running lights were working fine before.
I do have hid's installed in low beams already, just like the look of them as day time runners.
But for under powering, with hid's they can't really be under powered, its either all or nothing for them to light up. I got in touch with shop I had bought from and was told best way to go was to wire in a switch to turn them on and off manually. Is there any way to I guess fool the relay for drl's so I wouldn't need a stand alone switch?

i don't get it. Why not just turn your low beams HID's during the day? Beside the fact that the light would be coming out of the high beam reflector vrs the low beam reflector there is no difference.

Now I have yellow halogen bulbs for my DRL and HID's for low beams for the fact that it looks good when you see the color switch between the two. That is the only reason I have it.

To disable DRL's: Take out the relay, make or get a jumper to jump the two spots in the picture shown.

Low power cannot be good for the HIDs, The ones in my GP flash like crazy while the DRLs are functioning...

Not sure if I am right on this, but does any car company use HIDs for DRLs? I don't think so. I would think that this would by why BMWs have angel eyes, or newer Audis have the LEDs.

You dont want to use HID's for DRL's. They would function if you used a proper harness, but they will be full power, Do NOT underpower HID's. The issue comes when you need flashto pass. They simply will not ignite, and expel light fast enough to be used as high beams.

People need to stop getting so caught up on 'having HIDEEZ y0" trying to put them everywhere. Use them as they were intended. If you really want white DRL's use a fake xenon bulb.
