It is a 2.5 duratec 114,000 miles 96 ford contour automatic transmission and has the whole ignition system replaced.

Check for vacuum leaks.
Take a little time and search on this forum using P0171/P0174 to search. There are a ton of threads that will point you in the right direction.
Banks 1/2 running lean is due to your car getting un-metered air into the system. Most obvious causes are the UIM/LIM gaskets, vacuum hoses, brake booster hoses, loose clamp on intake before the MAF. Since its both banks look for something that effects both banks.
