I picked up another low mile SVT last week. #6183 of 6535. Ive known this car since its original owner... always a florida car and mostly well kept. The car sat for the past year with the previous owner as he started throwing money at it to fix some wierd issue it was having... Anyways I didnt hesitate to purchase it when I saw the extrmemly rare 18"racing hart c2s along with the clamped rustfree borla exhaust.

Got it to the shop and tried to diagnose the situation on why it didnt run. We popped the hood removed the dead battery and put in a charged one and realized we werent getting fuel. I was literaly at the junkyard the day before I brought the car home and stumbled upon a Walbro in the housing of a v6 mtx cougar that was laying on the passenger seat. Pumped looked brand new so I purchased it just incase. Well it didnt wait too long because it went right into the Silfro. 15 mins later the pump was in and the car fired right up. ran very smooth and didnt notice anything out of the ordinary.

My brother pointed out that the batt light was on so I can very well say that car car will also need an alternator that I just so happen to have lying around from my last part out.

Fast forward the story I strated the claening process last night and here are the pics.

My plans for this one.. is getting the 2.5L running in perfect condition, fixing the cluster warp, new oem antenna, upgraded cupholder, removing the dephi satellite radio parts left behind in the car and possibly paint. Also getting a 3-2 air bag code that related to a bad clocksrping... good thing I got that.

Great find, nice color (like mine) and it is not rusted like a lot up here in MDW.

Some more updates..

Took the car apart and gave her a good cleaning. I have decided to pull the engine and put a 3L in... the 2.5L runs fine but the gaskets are leaky and Im not liking that too much.

If it were someone who didnt care about that they were selling then it would have been a quick flip.. I cant sell something that leaks and has been sitting for a year. Has a bad a/c compressor clutch and no freon in the system, needs an alt, has worn out lcas and torn axle boots. It would ruin my reputation.

I respect that:cool:. And that right there is the difference between you & scott(bagged). My apologies to any who are/were his friends on here. But there were just way too many ppl who were complaining about his work for him not to have taken some shortcuts here & there. Hats off sam...

Another reason why I havn't done many 3L cars to sell. Most of the cars I find need much more than a motor and generally are all high miles. I have built 3Ls and shipped them off for people to put in their own cars plenty of times.

If I found another low mile, good condition SVT with a blown motor/trans, I would do what you are doing to this silver one and take care of suspension/steering/etc..

It's nice to know the quality of work is there, nice job sammy.

thanks buddy... it also doesnt hurt to have everything you need to get this car running perfect already sitting inside your shop. I need to start hunting for a nice 3L.

Sammy boy just wants to be me.....look at this thing...SF...red calipers....wanting to do a 3L swap...next he will want my rims. lol

Looking good dude!!
