I would finally like to meet up with you guys one weekend. Getting close to that time when we can hang out and talk cars outside with out freezing our asses off. I am down for just about anytime. Let me know what you guys think.

yea my car is in pieces... but you can bet once its finished I'll set something up. There are a few new MN guys

Ill be down for a meet too in a month and a half or so, hopefully. I'm pulling the csvt in the shop next week and starting on the motor and the repainting it then I will be ready. I live in Blaine btw.

Im due to brake away from the homelife for a day to meet some fellow CEG'ers and see some of your cars.

I'll have to keep an eye on this, I wouldn't mind taking a look at some of the 3L swaps you guys have done. I've been reading and reading for quite a while now, but actually seeing an installed 3L would give me an even better idea of how the finished product looks.
I actually made it to a couple meets a few years back, there's a good group in the area for sure.

Well I have a full 3L swap, however I can't tell you how it was done :P, just cause I don't know

LOL, Indeed. I should put it in a different wording. If I where to do the 3L swap I would know what I have read on the forums. Could I pull it off by my self... probably not.

BTW Cruise and 1/2 pedal should be fixed tonight... Woot

I'll take any info I can get right now. I'm at the point where I'm reading everything over and over again, maybe I should just give it a try and see what happens.

Blu_fuz had a farily detailed write up. Split port set up. Easy to do, because you don't need a tune. I PERSONALLY, like the 3.0L. TRicker and Pud have built both and they both say they like the full 3.0L over a split port. Intallation wise and power wise. Only down side is, you need a tune ASAP.

Yeah I'm definitely leaning towards a full 3.0L, 05 escape for sure. I probably have the Blu_fuz write up link saved actually. I think I have something like 20 or 30 links to the forums regarding the 3L swaps. I'm pretty confident based on what I've read, but I'm still a little nervous of getting in over my head. The last car I had the engine out of was a 93 cavalier, and that was about ten years ago. Although, CEG offers a lot more info compared to the stupid Haynes Manual I used on the cavalier, so I think things will be easier to be honest.

One thing that I'm a little concerned about is the transmission. I definitely won't be cracking open the trans myself. It sounds like some of the MN guys have experience with this so I'm sure I'll have questions about that when the time comes.

If you do the tranny, send it to LivinSVT...he built one heck of a transmission for me. And he does warrenty his work if anything breaks. He told me, take it off, mail it to him and he would fix it.

let me know if you need any help. i know how to properly install the diff, and i can do synchro's (but if they are good, they are good. if they are gone, they are gone. not like you can find a "half wore out" synchro)

let me know. i work for cheap. especially if you bring me the trans.

I do have to give TRicker an A+ for cost and quality of work!!!! Would recommend him 100% over and over again!!! He drove up around 3 hours one way to swap a clutch when I had my SVT. He honestly could do about anything in his sleep on these cars. And price was very very good.

I'll keep that in mind for sure. I think my trans should be in pretty good working order, it shifts perfectly and only has about 30k miles on it. Unfortunately I blew one up a few years ago and had it replaced by the dealer with a brand new one. Too bad I wasn't reading the forums very much at that time. For the cost the dealer charged I could have a fully built trans right now.

The dif is a must and I guess I was hoping to get some opinions on the 3.5 final drive. Transmission stuff is way over my head.
