For those that haven't been following my other posts on GEG, a few friends and I have been building a new Lemons car. It's a 1991 Geo Metro with most of a SVT Contour drivetrain mounted in the rear. Motor is a "full" Escape 3L with SVTC cams.

Last night, we drove the thing for the first time. Today, we competed (mostly successfully) in a local autocross as a shake-down. Found a few items that would have caused us lots of time fixing stuff in paddock next weekend.

Next weekend is the first Lemons race for us to compete in with this car. The race is at CMP in Kershaw, SC. After today, I'm thinking it will be an absolute blast with a little room to open up the engine.

Pictures and a video can be seen here:

Looks like fun man, I was considering running in Lemons with a CSVT that I found locally. Maybe next season after all this law school is done with!

Reminds me of the GEO MetroSHO Lemons car...

We've emailed with the MetSHO guys a little during the build. We're hoping that we can have both cars in the same race at some point this year. It would be fun to see who has the faster V6 Geo.

So is this thing running on the Lincoln MarkVIII ecu or something like that? You guys are crazy

This is great, I love the strut retainer (ie. 2 x 4)!

Did you find another Kosei or get one fixed. I think some people would shoot you if they found out you were running them on a Lemon car!

Love the gas door too!

Never found another Kosei. I actually have two sets. The set on the Geo are 16x7.5. I've got a good full set of those. My 17x7.5 set is the set with a crack in one wheel. Never found a replacement.

Gas door exhaust is one of my favorite parts of the car.

Just wanted to bump this back up. We survived the race, sort of. About 6 hours in, we threw two connecting rods out of the block. After swapping my Contour's motor into the Geo, we were running again. The car is fast, and a lot of fun to drive.

Check out our FB page for pictures from the weekend. We also got some love from Car and Driver. http://blog.caranddriver.com/lemons-southern-discomfort-the-winners/
