Found a green 2000 SVT for sale....

the description underneath also goes in to why an SVT is different from a stock Contour, etc, so they likely know, I think...

I will agree. it is probably ragged out.

I think it's funny how dealers will slap a "GAS SAVER" tag on anything with front-wheel drive... even if it requires premium fuel.

Good price, if it's not beat!

I guess so. :) Out of state vehicles is actually an advantage for us, in that sense. Rust is one of the reasons I went west to buy the SVT.

My question would be where it came from. I can't state fact, but I don't think the green was a color sold in Cali.

What???? You could order whichever of the 4 colors you wanted in 2000 regardless of the state you lived in. Tropic Green was by far the most rare of the 4 that year, which might be why you've never seen one... has NOTHING to do with California.

That is my point, is that you may have had to order one, since no dealers I knew of carry one on the lot in that color. I worked for a SVT authorized Ford Dealer when the SVT Contour first came out and the only colors delivered where the Red, Black, Sliver, but I was not around for the 2000 models, so I could be wrong.

More like the end was coming and they had extra paint left over to use. My old mazda had a final year paint color with a first year interior color so I always wondered if it just sat around in a break room all those years until they needed one more rear bench seat.
