I know Pete has spoken about this stuff and per the rules I've officially tested this product since Thanksgiving and have feedback...ITS AWESOME! I got new tires on my beater then and decided to try it out on brand new tires. I cleaned them real good and added one coat. I took it through a car wash afterwards and the stuff was still there, but what I wanted to do was build up another layer, so I added one more good layer, that was about 4 days after Thanksgiving. Its now January 5th and after numerous downpours here in Michigan and about half of dozen car washes the tires still have a natrual sheen to them. If your looking for a product that protects the tires and leaves them in a more natural state, THIS IS THE PRODUCT! I must say this too, don't get it on your clothes as its got some type of black pigment in it. The product costs about $11.00 for an 8 oz bottle and comes with an applicator pad as well. I bought mine from www.topoftheline.com

BTW, when I get around to it, I'll take some pics of the tires and show you guys what I'm talking about here. This product has blown me away, kinda like Klasse did:cool:

This stuff sounds great! I'll have to try it out- thanks. I'm sick of the other tire products that simply wash away after one or two washes or rainstorms.

dose it have/ and keep that deep wet look?

NO it doesn't, this product gives the tire a natrual sheen, basically one step above what a brand new tire looks like when its properly cleaned. This is the product to use if you like a clean, natrual look to the tire. Here's a quick how to prepare the tire for treatment of this product:

1. clean the tire completely of everything on it, old dressing, dirty, oils, etc.

2. apply one coat of Forever Black liberally, but no need to overdue it.

3. if you think it needs it because it soaked into the tire too much, apply one more coat after next washing or rain storm.

4. if it doesn't rain after a couple days, just go ahead and apply another coat instead of waiting for it to rain or another car wash.

After you've applied your second coat you should be all set, I am, thats for sure;) You really don't need to apply additional coats, but if it makes you feel better, go for it!

interesting find Rodger, my luck is always that when it rains, the tire tends to change into a weird color if it had tire shine on it before. Hopefully this stuff should do the trick, thanks for the heads up..

Is there any concern about getting it on your wheel and staining it possibly?

Even being careful you'll get some on the lip unless you've got a very steady hand, but even if you don't, just wipe it off right away. If you don't notice it right away, spray some QD on your rag and then wipe it off, no problem. IMO this alone lets you know this ISN'T you average tire dressing;)

Now for the pic I was talking about

Now just to remind you guys. I bought these tires right before Thanksgiving and I cleaned them real good before I applied the first coat of Forever Black to them. I then took it to the carwash and ran it through. The product was still on the tire, but due to my wheel cleaner getting on the tire, I decided to apply another coat and besides, IMO the new tires soaked up the product very well, so it does need a second coat. The second coat was applied about a week later and that has been it. No its not a "bling-bling" shine and this product never makes that claim. Right now I just wanna see how long it actually will last, the bottle says THREE MONTHES!, we shall see. After the long term testing is done I'll probably apply the product to the tires about once a month and see how it goes as far as the natrual sheen goes, maybe it will "pop" just a bit more than it does now. Like I said, if you want a tire thats one step above new looking as far its shine goes, this IS your product:cool:

A much closer, "in your face" look at the tire

Remember, this is after 6 weeks of weather including 4" of rain here during the month of December and about 7 carwashes;)

Rodger, the type of tire shine I want on all the cars I detail is similar to this picture below, a nice clean tire with a hint of shine on it IMO is the IDEAL look for a tire, will this product do it?

Yes, this is the product your looking for! When you first appy it to a clean tire it does have that "sheen" like the tires on the Carrera GT pictured. Seeing that a car like that isn't going to caught in the rain anytime soon the product will really hold up and not be tested. If I had a car like that to detail and applied Forever Black to the tires, I'd just wash the car like normal and take a seperate towel that you don't care to much about and "even things out" on the tire and if you wanted to, apply another thin coat to them. This product isn't cheap, but its not that expensive when you look at what it does ($10.95 for the 8oz bottle and applicator)

Goonz, if/when you get this chime and tell us what you think about this;)

Tires look nice! Any issues w/ sling? I notice that on the tires pictured there are no ribs on the sidewall. My new Goodyear 3Treads have ribs all around the tire, they just love to catch tire protectant and let it fly on the first drive!

Well this is my beater car so I didn't care about the ribs but I'm glad they aren't there, probably the dumbest lookin' thing to go on tires in forever:eek: There is ZERO sling with this product, period! I like a smooth sidewall because it looks better and is easier to apply tire dressing as well as "no sling", a win-win for all of us.

Well we've actually gotten some winter weather here in SEMI, now we'll see how it handles salt mixed with snow/sleet/rain. Remember, it was applied the last week of November:laugh:

but essentially, I mean all things constant and assuming that reapplying the OTC stuff has no bearing on your time or effort (about 1 to 2 minutes for a proper application), won't let's say Black Magic OTC which treats 40 tires or more (10 applications), beat this stuff out which only does 2 to 3 applications? Cost wise it seems the same seeing as one can will last you just as long I guess.

I think the point is that it lasts longer, requiring less regular applications. You are paying for quality, not quantity.

You are wise beyond your years, well unless your an older CEG-er like myself:shrug: I think you can a bit more out of the bottle, but this stuff is the real deal, just plunk down the money and try it for yourself and remember, clean the tire real good and apply a good coat on at first and go from there. Right now the roads are crappy here in SEMI because winter has finally showed up, so we'll see how it lasts now that theres some snow/ice/salt/etc on the road. I will let you guys know how its holding up when I get the car washed next time.

The pics of the product after a few weeks is ok but I'd like to see some pics of the product more recently applied if you can
