I took my car to a local mechanic who informed me that my car needed a new HCU and that it would need to be done by the ford dealer because they could not bleed the brake line without the ford computer or something like that. So I took it to the lcal ford dealer, kip killimon Ford and and said the car needed a new hcu. They said they would have to diagnose it anyway. So I've been in touch withe them and they said that they ordered the parts but when they rediagnosed it they replaced the caliper and cannot bleed the brake line themselves. So, in short, because they had to rediagnose it, they MISdiagnosed it and its going to cost me an extra $500. Bunch of :censored::censored::censored::censored:in Retards.

Fight it. Decline all the work.

Hey man I know a guy who had somewhat the same problem and he fought it and ended up sueing them!!! in the end it worked because he got his car fixed plus they had to pay for the troubles!! fight it man!!!

THEY MUST HAVE YOUR AUTHORIZATION TO DO ANY WORK ON YOUR CAR!!!

When you first arrive you pay for a diagnosis. That is it. If additional work is done by them. You won't have to pay for anything else but for what you originally signed up for.

So go sue them if they went over your head and started the work to your car without your permission.

Yeah, this same sort of thing happened once when my dad took his Cobra to a local shop for some work that was over his head. They had a list of what to do, but did some extra. The bill came up $1500, but my dad talked to them and said that he didn't ask for some of the work to be done, so he only had to pay $1000. Just talk to them first, especially if you gave them specific instructions. If that doesn't work, mention a lawyer/small claims court. If that doesn't get them to change their tune, then take them to court for the full bill plus your court fees. Sorry this happened.

To make matters even more retarded, the local maechanic said he couldn't get the brake lines to bleed using his pressure bleeding machine. The Ford dealership has NO machines to bleed the brake lines and the were wasting my money to try and bleed by hand what another shop could not do with a pressureized machine.

Damn, that sucks!

Is it the Kip Killmon in Louisa? I've never had too much trouble with them.

If you hang out in Louisa I think I saw your black SVT this morning on Rt. 22!

I live about a mile from kip killimon. I hope that you did NOT see it because I still haven't gottne mine back yet. Did you see if it had National Guard plates on it?

Kip Killimon is just a terrible Ford dealer to begin with. I took my old mercury sable there for work and I asked why the steering wheel vibrated when it braked and he said he knew but he would have to charge 43 dollars to tell me. The guy that said that was a fat :censored::censored::censored: who had on a white polo shirt with a huge :censored::censored:ing coffee satin. That dealership is so much of a failure that they've had a black shelby GT (not 500) with the factory black wheels with machined lips on the lot for almost 6 months because of their inability to sell it. Its been sitting still for so long the rotors are caked with rust.

I'll be damned, I live a couple miles from there!

Yeah, I covet that Shelby GT every day. It's not a 500 but still looks nice. Aren't those sales they have weird? They put yellow caution tape all over the place like it's a crime scene or something, and the salesmen hang out in the parking lot all day. Yeah, that's real inviting, crime scene tape everywhere and salesmen waiting in the parking lot to pounce on you. I don't know how they're still in business. But then again I see plenty of cars and trucks around with Kipp Killmon stickers on them. It's a small town, lots of Ford drivers around and no other dealer within 20 or 30 miles.

I used to take my first Mustang to Ferebee (that was the dealer's name before they got bought out), they were ok. Then an asshole manager took over and I quit taking my business there. Recently I took my girlfriend's Escape there to get an alignment and tires mounted, they did ok and were reasonable.

I hope to hell I didn't see your car. I didn't notice the tags, I was too busy peering at it to see if it was an SVT. If I see it again I'll let you know.

That sucks. I hope to get my contour back by the end of the week. Hopefully the ford dealer doesn't blow up the engine all their glorious incompetense.

Yeah, I worry about taking my car to get worked on, there's always the potential it will wind up worse than before the problem. If you're good at schmoozing up to people, there's an older black mechanic there that was always good with my Mustang.

When I get work done around here I have it done at Gibson's auto in Mineral, they're a bit expensive but they do good work. It's a family business, the father and son do mechanic work and the mother does the office stuff. If you want to try another mechanic you might want to try them. I do computer work for them sometimes.

I usually use tires unlimited to do work on my car. They are the ones who first found out what was wrong with my car and also replaced a rotted brake line and that cost about 90$. You may have seen the previous car I was driving around. It was a 2003 Mini Cooper S yellow with a checkered roof and black wheels.

Heh, I don't think I ever remember seeing your Mini, I would have remembered a yellow Mini with checkered roof. I also never see SVTs around Louisa either.

I was in a red F-150 with a flag in the back window this morning, that's my daily driver until I get a rental. My sister has my Contour, I'm trying to get her used to driving 5-speed.

The Ford dealership has agreed to not charge for the caliper itself but would for the labor. They found the HCU for the car in a junkyard and are installing it today. All in all it will cost about 1100 which isn't too bad since the part new is 1500.

Still, ouch! If it wasn't an SVT I'd think twice about putting that much money into it.

Here's my story for the day.

Stopped by the dealership to get a quote on rebuilding the trans. First they tell me that the SVT is specific and that they don't have the tools needed. Then they tell me they can do the work but it'd be better to buy a new one because it would take 22 hours of labor just to rebuild the stupid thing.

All I could do was to stand there in awe. How stupid I must be.
