I am going to try and fit the cruise control (CC) from a Ford Mondeo (UK Contour) into a MGB but need to know a few things about it. I have read that it requires a 8000 pulse per mile from the VSS but is that a 5 or 12 volt square wave, I am guessing it's 12 volt since it comes via the ECU. The other question is why does it need two brake pedal switches? I understand that the cruise control (CC)needs to turn off when you brake or change gear but since the CC is connected to the brake light switch why do you need a brake travel switch? Same with the clutch why is it called a clutch travel switch? From the wiring diagram it appears the brake light switch is in series with the clutch travel switch and feeds one terminal on the CC and the brake travel switch feeds another terminal.
