I must admit I got lazy and did not try to search very much.

Fried 2 more Contours both 1998s with V6. One auto with bad transmission. One standard with bad motor. Going to put good motor in standard. I think I remember there is no differences in the motors so every thing shoud just bolt up. Is that true? This will be the second transplant for the motor.

Is there any thing I need to be concerned with?

If the "good motor" is really good, then you are fine. There is no difference in the engine for the regular V6 of the same year (96 to 00).

you can use any motor from any year, what you need to worry about is the correct wiring harness and fuel rail, and imrc actuation system.

use the block and heads from the new engine and use everything else from the old and you should be good to go.

OK we have the good motor out of the auto and did notice the wiing harness differnce. Isn't the fuel rail and the imrc the same? Plan to pull the bad motor with the good MTX tomorrow which goes back into the MTX car with the good motor.

As long as the car and donor are both 98's like he said they were, he shouldn't have to mess around swapping anything. It should all be the same. I'd say just use your better/lower mileage parts when possible.
