Hi everyone. So none of my door jamb switches on my recently-purchased CSVT were working. I was able to clean up the front door switches and get them working again, but when I made it to the left/rear door I noticed that the wire that connects to the switch was already disconnected. I shined a flashlight into the hole where the switch screws into, and can't really see the connector nor wire.... therefore I cannot tell if the wire comes from the top of the car or from the bottom. I'm assuming the bottom, and gravity let the wire fall down there a ways.
I have mechanical fingers that will fit into the hole, but I'm just not sure which direction to start feeling for. Assuming the wire is resting somewhere in the lower portion of the steel between the front and rear door, is there any better access I have to wire if I take the interior trim off of the area? Or is that area completely closed in?
If it's close in, I was thinking about removing the interior panel and using a small hole-saw to make an access point to fish my mechanical fingers through to get to the wire. Trying to fish the mechanical fingers through the whole for the switch itself doesn't allow me to get angle fingers properly and grab the wire.
Maybe I can also wrap duct tape around a coat hanger, fish it through the hole for the switch, and see if I can get the connecter stuck to the duct tape and draw it up and out through the hole. Any other ideas???
Thanks,
Andrew
