hey, i am trying to put in the gear ring in a differential, but i can't find anywhere to what torque i should tighten these bolts. anyone knows? thanks.

"16) With the new races installed take the now cooled differential/ring gear assembly and torque the bolts to 88Nm in a diagonal pattern. I did this by putting a set of wooden blocks in a vise with the ring gear sandwiched between them. " -- from the how to.
well what the hell is 88Nm? I tried converting it but i am not sure. anyone

multiply Nm (newton-meters) by 0.7376 to obtain pound-ft measurements.

No... Nm stands for Newton-Meter, as I wrote above. Nano would be a measurement of distance, like a millimeter, or a meter. How would a tiny unit of distance help you tighten it correctly?

You also don't have to "guesstimate" anything. multiply the freakin' number by the value I posted and get an exact torque rating. If you have a problem multiplying two numbers while sitting at a computer with a built in calculator, then you have no business putting a gear ring in a differential.

That's why i was confused. Nano wouldn't help me at all. and chill dude. i did multiply it. although it was a huge challange for me. even my computer froze up when i gave it the problem.. i had to reboot before giving me an answer. that's how complicated it was:)) after all, i have a BS degree and calculus is something i took in high school. but still...my computer sucks. hehe
thanks for the help
a nano meter is one bilionth of a meter. so i was lost how i could use that for a damn bolt. turned out i think, that nm is not the same as Nm...ohh well

 Houston, we have a problem. Maybe time to get more RAM memory on the computer.
