Coles notes version:
-CEL came on last week
-Alex894 let me use his code reader yesterday
-Code P0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire
-I'm going to replace my spark plugs this weekend

My question:
Which cylinder is cylinder 1 specifically? As in, it's location within the engine bay (front bank closest to rad/rear bank closest to firewall & Left/Center/Right)

I did a bit of searching but came up dry. I seem to remember seeing a post a few weeks ago that provided this info, but it could have just been firing order, so apologies if a repost!

The main reason I want to know is because if I can easily replace just cylinder 1's spark plug (ideally front bank!) then I can wait until I can get the car to my brother-in-law (mechanic 2 hours away) to replace the hard-to-reach ones.

Many thanks!

I'm pretty sure it goes...

1-2-3
------
4-5-6

Thats when looking at the engine from the front of the car.

I don't recall what it is at the coil though.

Shoot, I suspected it'd be close to the firewall but I was hoping against all hopes it'd be on the side where I could see what I'm doing

correct

coil from front of the car is

4 - 6 - 5
--------
3 - 2 - 1

ah, thanks.

haha, when I removed my wires i didn't pay attention to the order because i figured it would be in my manual. Well, I looked and couldn't find it for whatever reason so I went back to my wires and figured out the order in which they went into the heads but couldn't figure out the order at the coil.

Now I know, thanks

Just remember, cylinder 1 is the one closest to the front of the motor (passengers side of the motor). They are all pretty easy to get to though.
