Crossed over to the darkside

never heard of that site... but that sounds GREAT. I will be putting that in my Favs after i post this. If i but anything online, i go to motorcycle superstore.

Thanks Cuda.

I called a dealer I've done business with over the last 10+ years they have scorpion and HJC helmets for $100 and Shoeis $100 off. Gonna go find one that fits right. I don't buy helmets online, can't get them fitted correctly that way. So I can get a fully lined icon jacket, liner is removable for $175. Helmet will be 100-400 depends on what I get and then pants and gloves....I'm like a woman at the mall at the motorcycle dealer.

new enough rocks.

I've purchased: Boots, racing suit, 2 jackets, 2 helmet shields, 2 sets of gloves and 3 helmets for friends through there.

Also keep in mind there are various certs for motorcycle helmets. From what i recall DOT is the most basic and it goes up from there. I think snell was the next up but that was a spike / puncture test.

DOT approval emans nothing...have you ever seen some of the DOT only approved helmets? scary. I think they would approve a watermelon rhine with a strap to hold it on your head.

Checked out newenough.com prices weren't bad. Local dealer was WAAAAAY cheaper though. Scorpion EXO700 helmet $100, Tourmaster transition 2 textile jacket $152 and Alpinestar radiant gloves $59. The dealer was selling icon helmets at $100 also thats a 1/3rd of newenough. gotta hit the dealers after the season is over, best deals out there right now.

I agree with that, they have great deals.

I believe that, even though they usually have one of the lowest prices, they still can be beat, I'm surprised that you found such a deal from a dealer

I dissagree, but hey, opinions are like :censored:: everyone has one right? however here is a link to a real long review about helmets and standards (Snell vs DOT vs ECE vs BSI) if you have time to read it all i think it is worth it  clicky clicky!

For what it is worth, I have two Scorpion helmets, a Cortech and Icon jackets. All of which are good quality products and i would recommend them.

PS Sweet bike!

I take the DOT sticker litely. I trust the snell ratings thats all. I love my scorpion helmet, I tried on HJC,Icon, and Shoei's and the Scorpion felt the best, was lightweight and $100. I'm a Shoei fan(love my VFX-R mx helmet)but no way was i spending 3-6X the money for one.

I got everything from action powersports in Waukesha. They've always had good people in service and the parts departments. Thanks for the compliments on the bike!

i forgot about the bar. Ill be sure to post some pics up in there of my FZR rebuild starting after family leave from thanksgiving... hopefully

Thinkmoto, is it in storage for the winter, or have you been out at all..if so how are you liking it?

Woah! sweet... that is pretty close! good to know, I'll check them out

I've been toying with the idea of getting a small death-rocket.

DO IT!! Actually a buddy of mine just got a NEW 2010 BUELL 1125R for $5G.... I kid you not, off the show room floor, they are liquidating their stock. (I'll have to say that i would prefer a jap or an Italian, but HOLY-MOLY smoking deal!!!!

I'll have to unload at least 3 vehicles before I buy another bike. And damn! That's a smoking deal! It's a shame about Buell, but it sounds like they're really trying to move the remaining stock.

I got the bike home last weekend as it was at my dads. i drove it to work last saturday, outside of having a squid move sunday morning I love it. Saturday night driving to work was awesome in the dark....even with threat of deer. Sunday morning was 30 degrees and I wasn't properly dressed. It's probably gonna get winetrized, gas drained and then parked in my house :)
