Hi guys,

What, if anything, would be the best induction kit for my mk1 2.5 v6 mondeo?

Cheers,

Kev B

Is it stock? Do you have plans to modify it? What other, if any mods does it have?

I think most CEG'ers would say the Nautilus CAI is the best. That's the only cold air kit that I'm aware of that's still being sold. You could build your own CAI if you feel up to it.

There's a plethora of short ram intakes available, from eBay specials to K&N FIPK kits for the Cougar, Injen, AEM and Weapon-R.

Try searching the forum as the pros and cons of all of these products have all been discussed to death.

Plans for the near future are to have manifolds, Y pipe, Decat and full stainless system. Just looking for an induction kit to go with it

That looks pretty awesome.... Are there a lot on here that run it?

Does it suffer from heat soak at all being a open cone filter? As i noticed that the Nautilus runs a longer pipe which i would imagine fits into the wing?

Cheers,

Kev B

Thats the one I have, a lot of people use that and get a heat shield for around the filter. There is a group buy going right now for the heat shields too.

The Nautilus intake extends into the front bumper...some cutting is required in your engine bay to get everything to fit. Some folks have complained about the amount of work it takes to install, so it's up to you. KKM intakes are much easier to set up and work well, especially with the heat shield.

Brilliant, i will take a look and see if i can find the group buy... Is there a group buy going on for the induction kit too?

Ok, will keep an eye on them. The group buy looks to have finished so i have missed out :( shame, but there is no rush as the car is hardly finished, lol

Have just mailed KKM to see what shipping to the UK would cost...Thanks for the help guys

If you're in the UK, why not try Racebits? They sell kits specifically for the Duratec V6. It comes with a MAF adapter with the IAT port. My concerns is the filter supplied looks pretty basic, and it looks like you could get a bit of heatsoak due to the location of the filter. I ordered one for my ST24 and it cost me peanuts really compared to a K&N kit which would take about 8 weeks to arrive here and cost 5 times as much. I'll be replacing the filter with either a Green Filter filter or a Simota filter, and probably make it slightly longer so its closer to the air feed duct.
