Check Engine and Fan light Problems

My check engine light has been on for about three months and I have had my car checked out at two places and they say there is nothing wrong. Now my fan light is coming on from time to time. I have a svt and I spoke to another guy with the 2.5L and his lights were on also and he said he had his car checked out and nothing was wrong. He said the problem was the part in the dash that trips the lights and it could be fixed for around a $100.
Has anyone heard of this?

Go to Autozone or Advanced Auto and tell them you want to have your Check Engine codes read. They'll read them for free, but get the actual CODE and not the crappy description that they try to give you. It will be a 4 digit code and start with a letter, like this:

P0420
P1581
Uxxxx
Cxxxx
etc

Bring those codes back here and post them up for help.


As for the coolant light, check your coolant level. Fill it up to 1/2" above the MAX line. The sensor is ultra sensitive and triggers the coolant light even when you are at MAX.
