car wont start...

Got a new battery a few days ago, its turns the car over alot better. but didnt fix the problem. yesterday after washing the car i tried to drive it and it wouldnt start again. just cranked and cranked and cranked. so today, i tapped on the ignition coil, and followed the wires and moved them around a bit, then tried again and it started right up. so maybe a loose wire or the ignition coil? problem is figuring out what wire is loose or what the actual cause is. any suggestions?
