My 95 LX leaks into the passenger footwell if the car is parked on a slant to the right on the street. I take it that is the side the air filter is located on. Could it be causing this leak into the car?

The gasket often goes bad on the housing. Change the gasket with the sticky one sided door weather stripping.

What gasket are you talking about--a gasket around the air filter or on the car?

Hi,

it is the one on the car. Once you remove your cowl to remove the filter, remove all parts that are composing the cabin filter system and you'll see the gasket, do this while it is not raining or snowing.

There you will find the gasket that is gone or in chunks and needs replacement.

I just went ahead and replaced my gasket with this one from the Home Depot and have not looked back since:

or there is the same application which is for Door & Window but it is practically the same thing.

If you have any questions, just ask but yes get the new cabin air filter.

I took the cabin air filter out years ago as I do not have a problem with allergies.
Could the gasket still be causing my car to leak in the passenger's footwell.

Yes, your assumption is correct. Check that gasket, replace it and be done with it...and as far as no cabin air filter...well, to each their own but i'd have mine in regardless of any allergies.

It is taking you longer to ask about it over and over than it takes for you to just get in there and change it !
