C1148 ABS code. I've thrown parts at it, any ideas?

C1148 Wheel Speed Sensor RF Coherency Fault

The ABS light was lit when I bought the car. Someone had installed non ABS cv's so I replaced both of them. I still got a error on the front right abs sensor so I swapped the sensor on the hub right to left. Still saw the error. For giggles, I grabbed a spare sensor at a junkyard and its the same. The other day I noticed a dent in one of the pickups on the CV's tone ring. So, I replaced the CV again. Still got the light.

If I look at a realtime datastream with a scanner, I see that all wheel sensors will register the same wheel speed except for the front right one. It either reads 0 or partial speed and sometimes jumps to the correct speed. I've cleaned the connectors where the sensor plugs in the harness. Also, this is my new main harness. It did the same with the old harness.

Any ideas?

The new main harness has nothing to do with those. I say its wiring behind the wheel liner. pull it off and trace the wiring. also remove hte plug on the sensor clean inside and replug firmly.

The new main harness is excellent btw. :) I was trying to state that neither new or old harness made a difference thus the harness not being the issue. I hope it came across that way...

I cleaned it onces with some carb cleaner and or contact cleaner. I'll double check that. It's hard to see where that thing goes through the fender and in to the wiring.

I used the Ford CD to check the resistance at the ABS module. Tolerances looked fine at 1342 ohms for the 2 pins. I cleaned the Main harness plug at the module. About 2 miles later, the light came back one. Grrrrrr. Must be the wire between the sensor and the module. I guess I need to check the ABS harness...

I fixed the ABS light on mine last week. It had been on since I got the car, and I finally got tired of it. I had pulled the codes about a year ago and never did anything about it. So, knowing it was the left front sensor that had the issue, I started with the sensor itself.
It registered roughly 1300 ohms, which is good. Pulled the connector off the ABS module and ohmed it from there, no continuity. Pulled the fender liner out and chased the wire down. Where the sensor wire ran through the hole in the body, there is *supposed* to be a rubber grommet/isolator. Mine wasn't there and the wire had sawed though against the hole. Stole one off donor SVT, fixed wire, problem solved.
