Broken Spring

Hey everyone,
I have had this clunking for a few months now in my front end. Sounded a lot like a CV shaft. I am new to the FWD cars, and i assumed it was the CV shaft. I replaced it, and the clunk is still there. Come to find out, the driver side coil spring is broke:shrug: . I looked up and underneath the flat part of the strut looking up through the wheelwell, i see a loose coil. Can i buy a coil separate from teh strut? What is the best way to attack this problem? Thanks.
 
Springs should be replaced in pairs. Yes, they are available by themselves, but the strut must be removed and the spring disassembled from it so if it needs struts now is the time to replace them.

It would also be wise to check with a dealer. The broken spring, once it breaks, may be part of a recall.
 
Well, that is good to know since I need a new strut mount and spring on the one corner. Get it all done at once. Along with throwing on the slightly used struts that I have
