I figured I would post these up since I haven't seen any blizzard pictures yet.

This was how I found the Cougar when I woke up.

Good lord, thats a heap of snow!

I have been dying to go play in some snow with my truck, but we haven't got hardly anything here yet.

It was def an interesting weekend. I'm just back to work today after having a surprise 5 day weekend. They're still doing snow clean up all around the state. At the peak of the storm, it was coming down at a rate of 6" an hour. The plows had no choice but to wait for a break before they could continue plowing. At that point it was too late and too much snow had fallen for them to be able to push it away.

The National Guard was deployed over the weekend to help, the governor closed all roads in the state for any non-emergency vehicles, people were stuck in their neighborhoods for 3-4 days because they didn't have enough plows to get them out.

Some school districts are closed until next week. The storm happened on the 8th.

thats crazy... how snow can hide stuff like that. I would have walked right into it or over it.

This is what I got. By the end it was over 2 ft of snow. Was out shoveling snow from ~7:30 am until ~3 pm. Stopped for an hour for lunch. At the time we finished the town had only cleared the far side of the street, so I had to dig out 8 ft of road in front of the driveway to get out. It was finally all cleared up sometime Monday.

The fierce wind made funny snowdrifts. I had bare roof on half of the car and a nearly foot on the other half. The passenger side had probably 5 inches of snow on the ground and the driver's side went up past the window.

Everything was soft powdery snow so it took no time at all to clear a path on the driver's side.
(Everything forward of the hood scoop is parked under an overhang, so less snow on the ground by the front tires.)

This was a few years ago back in Alaska. Not the deepest snow by any means, but it's what I have a picture of.

Definitely! It's a ton of fun but gets expensive fast. You can get pretty nice snowmobiles for a reasonable price if you shop around (*cough springtime cough*) but the truck, gear, fuel for sled and truck, etc really add up!
