black non leather interior?

On the Turbo Coupe forums I used to visit, guys would DYE their seats black all the time. I've never heard of painting it. The seats in those things were raven black, but notorious for fading into something that resembles Midnight Blue! :)

Painting your leather seats even with leather dye is just asking for it... You'll wreck the seats and then have to get new seats or have them done custom in black leather which is the way to do it anyway. The only real professional way to do a black interior would be to gut the interior, do the trim/dash correctly, have the seats recovered and do custom black carpet/headliner too. Completely not worth it IMHO. If you want a sporty sedan with a nice black interior, sell your CSVT and pick up a late 90s BMW 328i.

For cloth get a packet of Rit dye and a spray bottle. I've done numberous parts this way with great success, never crunchy like the spray paint style.

If you paint your interior plastic pieces wash them with dawn dish soap and scrub good and get all that grease off and armorall and junk....and use adhesive promoter or it wont stick,i used duplicolor adhesive promoter and black duplicolor interior paint for a few trim pieces and it sticks very good after it dries for a day.....i can run my finger nails on them and it sticks very good adhesive promoter is the only way to do it imho......but as far as seats getting them redone is the best way......or if i were to do a black interior id get a back seat delete and make it look like how the crx looks in the back somehow lol and id get s2000 leather seats up front and custom fit them by cutting rails and doing some welding them this went through my mind a few times last year

Or if you are up for paying a ridiculous amount of shipping, the Mondeos in Europe came in black... you'd just have to find a left hand drive one from Germany or something... This is actually something I'm going to research if I stage out of Germany for a few months this year. That and if the Mondeo Mk1 AWD was available in Germany...
