Battery Cable Replacement

My battery cable is ruined beyond measure. A too tall battery (Red Top) resulted in the top of the battery shorting out on the hood and cooking away part of the cable that connects to the battery. So, I'm looking for a replacement. Obviously our cars (V6 -if that matters) have a battery cable with another cable splitting off that goes to who knows where. I found one that looks similar, but am unsure if it is correct.

Also, it is the red (+) cable that is damaged. Should I get two cables since IIRC the two are fused together? I am going from memory here. (The 'Tour is a second car that I've finally decided to get ready for sale)

first link either has a generic photo or is a generic cable.

on the second link why would you look up the I4 engine when you have the V6.

the main positive battery cable runs to the starter and then to the mega fuse and down to the alternator. best bet is to buy some wire and replace what is needed. get a new terminal for the battery too.

The second link was after selecting the correct engine through Autozone. If you have recently searched for something for an I4 that could be why it comes up! The damaged part is near the terminal that connects to the battery. The rest should be fine. However, I don't know where to find a replacement terminal end, and so I have an idea that I have to replace the entire cable! Got any links?

I have tried many locally, and none matched due to the split/lead that goes off on ours :(

dude, you can make your own. The hardest part is routing the damn wires.

Sir, you are in luck, I am replacing my starter/positive battery cable as we speak. I have taken pics and will post a thorough write up later on today (its about 2.45pm eastern time). I'm waiting for my wife to get back from the dentist, she had an appointment at tooth hurty so she'll be back soon.
I only need to solder two eyelets onto the two smaller positive power cables to attach to the positive terminal and I'll be done.

I am having starting issues now, the wire completely split from corrosion!
Anyway i amnot having any luck with the link or part numbers to teamford.com, can anyone help me find it?
Also does anyone have a write up on replacing the cables? Thank you

Give one of them a call and tell them you need the battery cable. I want to say I spent $65 or so on mine. It comes with both positive and negative AFAIK, mine did.
To replace, just take the old one off and put the new one on in it's place. Seriously like putting the round shape into the round hole and the square shape into the square hole. :) All the bends are there, the connectors are all there, etc... The only area I had a hard time with was around the mega fuse where real estate is scarce, and that damn thing was brittle. Ended up ripping it out all to be replaced with the cable anyway. There is a far reach from underneath where you connect it to the alternator, so make sure you have access to that (jacks, ramps, 2x4, etc)
