Does anyone have pics of their tour with the BAT kit installed? I'm gonna be needing all new suspension in my near future. I want the lowered look but nothing too low.. Just want to know how the cars stance will be if I go this route.

Any help is great.

All tires are 215/45/17 Stupid Low Profiles. I just got 225/45/17(thicker tires) looks way better. I have a BAT Kit and ST200s(17"). The Silfro is stock

...And I still love how your car looks !
It's been a long time we didn't meet somewhere. How's the car doing? And you lol. I just got back from the garage (AGAIN! :censored:) for a shot ball joint. And guess what? It's time for a suspension job! Grrr... all 4 corners are due, and it's just destroying everything attached to it. So what do you think, am I better forking out some more money for the BAT kit of stay woth OEM? I don't know if it may be too low, you know how I hate to scrape the ground ;)

BTW: is it easy to change a wheel bearing? That was the original reason to go to the garage, but for sure, they didn't do it, and it starts to bother me heh...

wheel bearings are a pain if you dont have a press...almost impossible really. get the bat or look around and find a used koni setup.

Look at the sig I am getting ready for the swap. Ill call you sometime after the swap, I still have your number! I dont know I never scrape my bottom or anything. I never have with my BAT kit. Im just very slow when it comes to driveways or gas stations im not familiar with. But then again people with the stock suspension tend to do it all the time like my friend.:nonono:

But nonetheless, I am very happy with it and if you decide to do everything yourself I would love to come over and give ya a hand Etienne.

I may be planning to go lower with Koni/GCs in the future. After the swap and an HMS Tranny!

Not much aesthetics for me anymore. I realized and finally grew outta my make everything show with no go status. Working on most internals before I get back onto aesthetics.

What kind of tools are needed to change the springs/struts over to the BAT kit?
And also, anything else I should change at the same time? Like going for new bushings?

Amyn, I think you should go for the Koni and sell me that BAT kit  hehe
Hope the swap will go well, I'm jealous that you'll have that 3L and a new transaxle! You're right, better upgrade internally before ;)

You might as well change out the LCAs if you haven't yet. Same with the sway bar bushings, and end links. All can make a good difference.

Well All I think you need is the Spring Compressor/Holder so it doesnt bounce into your face!

Everything else is regular tools! IIRC as i read. I have never attempted this myself but im sure its easy. Just time consuming!

Do you have any pictures of what it looked like before the suspension?

I have the koni kit on mine and I never have to worry about going up and down my driveway curb. It's still really practical and you don't have to cut the wheel or anything over speed bumps(I've only gone over a few since, but it's just not real low)

I bought my SVT used with 75xxx on the clock.

Turned out it had a cracked strut and 2 cracked springs.

Wondered why I kept bottoming out, and scraping :censored::censored::censored::censored:, losing grip to dangerous proportions when pushing the car into corners, etc.:troutslap:

But anyway, once I had the BAT kit installed, and it fully settled it never really scrapes.

Only really scrapes what would scrape any car that is even slightyly lower than your standard issue family car, such as a stock taurus or accord.

You know, driveways that for some reason have an angle that was purposely built to destroy any car departing from said house or business, even the owners.

Kit definitely tightened the ride up, especially on the highway above 100 mph on curves.
Sticks, and slightly lessons shift dive.

It is a little rough on rough rodes though.

Not terrible, but occasionally violent on potholes, or abrubt raises in rodes.

And I don't mean violent as in unsafe, I mean as on your ass and inner organs.

Good kit though, not a major drop, but signifigant enough to notice if you know SVT's, and good enough to give a performance edge over stock.

But I do agree with what somone said in another spring/strut thread, they do not take away as much body roll as I expected or would like.

The brake dive I wouldn't really know about because my breaks are so bad i just downshift a lot:cool: .

The disconnected feel to the road I cannot account for completely, but yes sometimes it doesn't grip as much as I would like.

Still like it better then stock, and when I say stock, i mean other stock SVTs I have driven in the past, not my "stock" pre BAT SVT.

I can't compare it to other kits though, I have yet to drive a SVt with another type of setup.

Nice thanks for the comments!
My guess is that it'll be pretty much similar to my ride height right now with my very well used struts, by looking at the pictures and seeing Amyn's car. I guess it can't hit harder than right now when the struts bottom out on RT-3, I hate that road!

I love those driveways... just like mine! I scraped the tailpipes getting out of it last time. Gotta be careful I guess, it's no Topaz here...

I'm really looking for a good balance between handling and comfort, I think that should fit the bill pretty well.
I still think that a stock SVT is more balanced than the Mazda6 I tried ;)

i don't know about everyone elses SVT but yesterday when i had my car up on the alignment rack i checked my ride height against spec. and it was almost 2 inches low in the rear. i guess what im getting to is check into it. puting the bat kit on could bring your car up some.

Check out my CarDomain page: the first page is from the day after I got the car, stock suspension. The second page has some decent shots of what it looked like on the stock suspension also.
The fourth page has the pictures with the BAT kit installed.

They make a really big difference for non-SVT cars, like my Mystique and I love it. The difference on an SVT is still very noticable and beneficial. Keep in mind that this is NOT an all-out performance kit. It is designed to give your car better than stock handling and a Euro ride & feel - which it does very well. For a DD I don't think I'd like a spring any firmer than the BAT kit. You get a smooth & controlled ride on highway, very good handling & feel when pushing the car, but it does get just a tiny bit harsh on rough roads - which is what you should expect with lower profile tires anyway. With my stock Mystique rubber the ride is comfy & VERY controlled - although tire ply ruins the fun... :(
