I love Top Gear as much as the next guy, but honestly these comparos irritate me. Their disdain for all autos Americana is obvious, as is the fact that they're not running a street model of the Ram, but a 4x4. It's right up there with infomercials where they show the bumbling idiot that can't strain pasta without making a huge mess. Misleading, as well as being ridiculously self-serving. Personally, I would have liked to see them drive that Ram right over the top of the Atom....making an Atomic Pancake.
 
Well geee, a 500 kg purpose built racer against a 4x4 truck.... who woulda thunk it that the racer would win. I didn't even finish the video. Clarkson is just too much off an ass sometimes.
 
they probably finished taping the atom at willow springs and still had tape so they thought, "hmm, what else can we film? How about the truck that got the car here?"

I was stationed at Edwards AFB, which is leterally right there at willow springs, and would always see nice cars being trailered in abd out of there. The best one I ever saw was a truck load of GT-R's. R-32 and R-34's.

Personally I would rather have seen them use a Ferarri Enzo FXX or a Veyron and have it race a 1982 T-Bird with blown shocks, collapsed Cats, and low tire pressure around the Ring. That should further prove that American cars are all crap.
 
Which episode is that? Because I'm very curious what car they compared it to after the truck. Because he starts to talk about an American car that can compete.
