Active grille shutters? Awesome

I'm loving the new Fusion more and more. They just need to build the dang thing already and offer it with a manual and a V6...

New generation Focus's have the active grille shutter system as well. Well atleast the european ones do for sure.

Its only the bottom grill that shutters. Plenty of air can flow through the top grill to keep the engine bay temps low while driving.

They will not be offered with a V6. Only 4 and turbo 4's. I just read somewhere that it will be offered with a 6 speed manual in the higher trim levels to help compete with euro imports. I just can't find where i read that now.
Edit: it was the Focus Titanium that will get the 6 speed manual not Fusion. sorry. But it looks like the 1.6L turbo will have a manual available, just not the 2.0L turbo.

Also It is Possible we may get an ST model.

Yea I know. I read all of the literature on it as well as watching the Detroit Auto Show unveiling. It was just hopeful thinking.

While that is one very alluring car, I'm tired of the high belt lines. I understand the reasoning behind them but it's aesthetically displeasing imo. #archaicminded

I am also thinking the 2013 Fusion has a good chance of being my next car, but they better announce the existence of the ST or better still an SVT version before I buy. If they announce it after I buy, I will not be a happy camper. There is a small part of me looking at the KIA Optima SX or Limited because other than the nose it looks a lot like the new Fusion and already has the 274hp motor.
