A sad day for SVT..

Well as of yesterday 05/07/07 i declared that the clutch is bad in the car..I started tear down today..as you see in the pic UIM and LIM is off there getting a bath tomorrow..While the motor will be out i'll be installing MSDS headers..And a New OEM SVT Clutch..Theres a Spec Stage 2 in there now with a Fidanza Flywheel..Also is this going to be a ok match SVT Clutch with Fidanza Flywheel??..Well here the sad pictures..Not even a year ago it was in this same position getting a new trans and clutch etc..

Man you are scaring me & several others w/ the stage 2! II guess it will be ok thogh b/c when It goes I won't have to listen to this terrible noise my spec Is making. :(

I thought it was all spec clutch thats why i was going to go back to the OEM SVT Clutch..
 
From what I hear its most but mine is worse than some I've heard. I'll be joining you w/ the stocker when this one goes out unless I make some engine changes!
 
Yep..Spec stage 2 Kevlar coating glazes easy i was told..it was slipping one day coming home..And now it wont go in gear while running but will when the cars off..So somthings wrong with it..Only 1 way to find out.


Who told you that?? I put about 40k on one and it was fine. I didn't beat on it, but i don't drive like a grandma either.

Looks more like installation issue, or factory defect.

I put i think 10K on it..But i always had a nasty chatter i know a gentleman with my same setup and has no chatter at all..
 
Just go with a Spec1 or go crazy and do a Spec3 :D. Trust me when I say going from a performce clutch back to a stock clutch sucks. You and Kyle better have that fixed by the end of today :crazy: .

SPEC clutches are hit and miss and not needed. They have too many problems with manufacturing or sending the wrong parts. Blackcoog is running a S/C 3L with a stock clutch without a single issue. I got a spec and regret getting one - its dusty as hell & chatters while sitting in traffic.

You can get away with a stock clutch because the SC hardly makes any tq. :D

Post pics once you get the trans pulled. I'd like to see the culprit.

Will do..Not coming out today kyles at home with his wifey..Im going to order a stock SVT Clutch today and within a day of it being here i'll take the motor out..
Im still trying to figure out witch way i wanna take it out..Last time i drop the entire subframe..Now it was a PITA to get back in but it worked out well..
If i wanna go threw the top do i just need to remove the drivers side axle correct.
Also i can still run my Fidanza flywheel correct with a stocker clutch

I've got a brand new Clutchmasters Stage 3 Clutch that I need to sell if your interested... it was going in the Coug with a 3L and I later sold the car and the 3L but the new owner didnt want the clutch.
 
Thanks Aaron.Well just got the axle outta the hub drivers side looks like i'll be needing a new outta CV joint since i messed up the threads..Ohwell..
