I've had this idea for quite some time now, and first did it over the holiday weekend. Looks absolutly awesome in person.

What do you think?

Very nice josh,

I had planned on doing this in the winter. Did you just use a peice of bottom mesh?

That was my other thought, I was just worried about having to bondo it or anything to get rid of the joints.

Did you just epoxy it? I picked up a plastic welder thats insane, but I think it might melt that plastic....

I can't find the pics (either in the old old forum, or profiles), but someone 'meshed' the center by dremeling out the emblem base into the stock pattern.

I can't imagine that looking good....with the shape of the mesh and it's changes in elevation/thickness, it would be rediculously hard to effectivly duplicate

Will reserve judgement till I see it on the car. I'm typically not a fan of the removed Ford badge on 98+ Contours to begin with (to me the front just looks incomplete; missing something) but let's see. Definitely an impressive bit of work though!

Damn!! That looks way better than I saw it on Friday!!  That would look damn good back on my car ;)

really interesting.
I definitely want to see it installed. Did you take pics as you went along to show how you did it?

btw, nice rack... ;)
