Ford Contour L4-122 2.0L DOHC SFI.
Manufactured: 10/98
Have to replace the A/C Refrigerant Hose and Accumalator.
The parts numbers I was given where:
A/C Refrigerant Hose: MOTORCRAFT Part # YF2626 {#XS2Z19D734CA}
MANIFOLD & TUBE ASSY.
Accumalator: MOTORCRAFT Part # YF2470 {#F8RZ19C836AB} ACCUMULATOR & HOSE
The A/C Refrigerant Hose appears to be the wrong one. At the end where the two hoses connect, the groove in the plate that attaches to the compressor is on the wrong end.
Quite odd because when I asked the dealer and gave them my number off the old hose, they assured me it's the correct one. Although, it's not and won't fit on the compressor.
After further research I came across the site rockauto.com. I noticed that they have additional options of A/C Refrigerant Hose for my make of car. They suggest I get the FOUR SEASONS Part # 56550 {Discharge & Suction Line} A/C Refrigerant Hose. Which, when looking at the pictures at their website, looks exactly like mine.
The guy said that it depends one when the A/C was installed...either at the manufacture plant or at the dealer.
Does anyone know anything about this issue.
