What's the tool needed to remove the cap bolt that holds the crank position sensor in? Can't see the end, can't feel what type, haven't tried any tool that fits. Is it hex or Torx, and what size? Please and thanks much.

1999 SE Zetec ATX, 155K, still trying to hit the road!

I'm sure normally that's what is needed, but the bolt that's in there is not the factory bolt, apparently. The cam sensor was a 10mm bolt, and I was surprised that the crank sensor wasn't. I guess I'm just gonna have to experiment until I get the right tool for it. Thanks for the reply Lavell.

Yes, from the factory, the crankshaft position sensor has a 10mm bolt. Apparently, the previous owner of your car decided to switched out the bolt for some reason.
