Longtime member, but basically no posts... :p
Figured I should post here before I bother with Craigslist/AutoTrader/Marketplace/etc.

    • Ohio (North-Central, Cleveland/Sandusky/Ashland regions)
  • Mileage:
    • 85000~
  • Aesthetic Condition:
    • Fair (good for its age); some paint chips, some paint scuffs, some old-Ohio-age underbody rust (recent photos attached, judge for yourself, etc.)
  • Mechanical (Drivetrain) Condition:
    • Good (great for its age)
  • Mods & Upgrades
    • Grizzly Clutch back at around 20K miles
    • BAT Suspension Kit (little lower, little tighter)
    • K&N Conical Air Filter
    • Rear Seat Overhead Cabin Light
    • Fog Lights with Parking Lights mod
    • Exhaust modified just a bit (just a few more dB on that 'growl', passes Ohio "e-check")
    • Alpine retracting head unit & CD changer in the trunk (so old, some good features though)
    • Alpine "Type R" speakers: 2x 6.5" round in the front doors, 2x 9" oval in the package tray, powered by an Alpine amplifier
Was my second car after a 2000 Mercury Mystique.
Wasn't ever raced or driven hard (okay, maybe one time).
Primarily used for a commute to work. Non-smoker, yada-yada.

Being an Ohio car, where it snows, roads ice over, and require salt, there's some rust. Most noticeably, the rocker panels are about 30% gone. Replaced them with a weld-on, custom-made kit, but the SVT 'ground effects' still need to be attached (included, but missing 'jack hole' caps). Needs more of the clips they hang on. Rust was likely caused by those ground effects as they held water & other debris for years. Has a new hood, moonroof, etc. after an unfortunate late-night accident that resulted in dozing off & drifting into the median of a highway at 60mph and into a sign that whacked the roof way back in 2004 or something. Fortunately no other traffic that night on the way home from Cedar Point. Been running great ever since.

Much of the "mods & upgrades" were the result of this forum's suggestions & resources... never got around to the big stuff I would've loved to do, like a 3L conversion, turbo, limited-slip diff, etc... 😢

Questions, suggestions, and conversation welcome.

Donating this guy to support Habitat for Humanity if there's no interest for a few weeks after bumping the thread.
Probably a better overall outcome, anyway. Sad to see these disappear, though. Great car for their time.
Replacing it with a Mach-E GT Performance Edition... eventually... 😄
