I have owned my cougar since 2007 and before then it belonged to my brother who had the car since about 78K miles. As it sits the car has about 194k with a full 3L installed at around 150k by Dominic over at FCO. The 3L has about 64k on and the trans was rebuilt by Terry at HMS where he installed all new blocker rings,a keyed the shift tower to never have to worry about shearing the shift tower bolt, and installed a quiafe diff. The trans is completely bulletproof and has always ran royal purple synchromesh or Ford honey.
The reason I am selling it is because I have lost interest in it and am trying to buy a house and instead of letting sit I'd rather sell it.
The paint still shines when it's clean and waxed, there are couple of dents but over all the car still looks ok. The passenger door is slightly dented and has a scratch where someone hit me in the parking lot I just never got around to fixing it.
Sunroof: Tracks works and so the the motor but the relay has gone bad.
Drivetrain: Mechanically the car is great, I installed a fidanza flywheel and luk clutch last year and has only been driven about 2k miles since then
Suspension: all suspension bushings and control arms were replaced with ford parts at around 150k
The rear end of the car has eibachs springs with store brand struts and the front struts are tired and are the original (194k on mounts and struts.) Needless to say the 3L has destroyed them... I have the front eibach spring but again I've lost interest. If the buyer buys the struts and mounts i'll be happy to install them for no charge.
Tires are relatively new and have about 75% life left
