Be Gentle I'm New Here
Hello everyone! I'm a long time lurker and decided to join the fun!
I've got a 1996 Ford Contour GL with the 2.0L Zetec, and I've assembled a small collection of coolant hoses for a batch replacement only to find out this hose isn't actually part of the crazy lower radiator octopus. It is a hose that runs from the lower radiator, over the top of the O2 sensor, along some support bracket which I think goes into the thermostat. and my Haynes repair manual just lists it as 'hose' with no additional details. I've got a power steering leak in the high pressure line under the pump so fluid must've dripped onto this hose and made it start bubbling/disintegrating, but that is a separate issue to be repaired alongside this so the new one won't end up like this one.
I know parts for Contours are a major pain in the butt to get a hold of but this doesn't look like some crazy specialty hose other than the moulding/shape - Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this just connects onto a hole in the thermostat housing you clamp it around.
If I really can just plop some size/material-correct generic hose in place of this I certainly would prefer to do that but I'm not sure on the diameter either, and if the little elbow connector between it and the lower radiator hose are two different diameters. Appreciate everyones help around here, you guys have certainly saved my ass more than once
