I have a 95 mystique, and the motor has issues. The car seems to idle too low, but only when in gear, and more troubling still, is the flat spot, when accelerating. When pulling away from any stop, the car hesitates, and requires "feathering" the gas to go. Once the car gets past the flat spot, it has plenty of power, even though it is only a 2.0 four cylender. When coming to a stop, it seems fine, it is only when starting out from a stop, or when cruising, without touching the gas. whenever the peddle is pushed on, from an idle situation, does it hesitate. Any ideas? The throttle positioning sensor has been replaced.

Another common problem is the idle air control valve, sometimes you can take them off and clean them, carbon builds up in them. Also if you have not replaced you fuel filter, that is always a good idea.
