00-04 Focus drivetrain?

Hi everyone. For the past couple years I’ve been looking for a 5 speed 95-97 Contour to replace one I had but crashed. The 5 speeds are pretty hard to find up in the PNW so I’m wondering if anyone knows if the Zetec/MTX from an early Focus would work. I’m decently handy with fab work. Lemme know if anyone has tried this and any tips!

You can make anything work with some modification.

Recently saw a 2004ish Focus hatchback with an SVT 2.5 V6 swapped into it that was for sale.
