LSX Powered Mustang

Very sweet.

I like LSX engine swaps, with my fav being an FD mazda RX followed by a 240sx

Dude that is one sick ride! Too bad its an automatic. But ive heard that automatics launch better than manuals, there4 they're faster. But anyone will agree, a manual is way too much fun to drive than an auto.

I'm not a huge gear head.. so some of that stuff is out of my league.. not really sure about the engine names and all that stuff. I understand turbo.. x2.. and 1k HP, so it looks like it will be a mean drive

its actually not that uncommon to put GM motors into ford mustangs. I was watching the show pinks and i've seen more than once a GM motor in a ford mustang. I wish i had the cash to do somthing like that.

yeah but they do it on gutted drag racers where they can cut and chop as they see fit.

this is a fully functional car, and the first of the new model mustangs to have this motor.

still...coulda been done with ford parts

I go to New England Dragway alot and one night this guy pulled up in a saab 9000 with a 5.0 in it. Swapped it from front wheel drive to rear wheel drive. that thing booted.

Now, do autos really "launch" better or are they preferred due to their consistency?

Compared, manual and auto in the new mustang is quicker as a auto, i beleive almost 2 tenths. Consistency is a large factor. Its very common to see heavily modded drag cars run clutchless setups, it eliminates another potential weak point in the drivetrain. As lauching better, If you have a high stall converter and a trans break you can launch as strong as if not stronger than a stick. You can get quicker reaction times to boot.

Wow.. GM engine in a mustang.. that's homotastic.

My thoughts exactly. I knew these guys were complete morons when they started this project with a V6 package :nonono: These guys said they wanted t be different, I think they wanted to be fags...

My fav video is the buildup of a GT-TT. They hit over 1100hp on a drivable street tune without changing any ignition or fuel delivery parts from factory and drove the hell out of it, I've never seen a spedo move so fast in my life! I love how he races everything he can find, even leaving crotchrockets in the dust! Video has an intriguig ending.. I wonder what will become of that car...

they say heretic by definition is descending from a norm. but i do beleive it was normal and quite popular to stick gm motors in ford bodies for quite some time. due largly to the lower costs of gm powerplants. they sicken me. still pretty sweet though.
