I have a 98 Mystique..the OEM speakers are 6 x 8..i was wondering if 6 x 9's would work..or if i can get 6.5" speakers and find a way to fit them? is there anyone that knows? Thanks..

Do you have a Jiggsaw and a Pencil? If so then buy some 1/4 Fiber Board and make your own adapters.

Take out the factory speakers and trace an outline on the fiber board. Cut out the template and drill holes where the factory screws were. Then trace out the hole for the 6.5" Speaker. Cut out hole and install.

I have a set of 6.5" Focal seperates in my front doors. I used some metal strapping to span the speaker and install the tweeter over the main driver in a Co-Axial posistion but tilted so it is pointing towards the center of the listening area.

Takes about 15 minutes a side to make the template. I will post pics later of my install.

I have 6x9s all round on my mondy just had to drill a couple of new holes and put the spacer ring that came with them on the rear of the speaker to space it out so as they didnae foul on the window mechanism.

Correct me if I'm wrong (And seriously, please do as I want to put this in the FAQ), but this is what I believe fits:

With some fabrication: Anything short of 8" :)
With minimal fabrication: 6x8, 5x7, 6x9
Direct drop-in: 6x8 in the front, 5x7 or 6x8 in the rear
