Finally finished fitting my mirko today. It has been a two day ordeal between trips to buy bits and pieces, my flatmates battery operated tools not working and me stuffing around. Anyway, its finally done. I fitted the brackets too, but not sure I will use them, they make it sit a little funny. Anyway, heres some pics. Also, side skirts are off cause I'm working down a dirt road and they got filled up with mud. I will be finished that job soon and then they will go back on, as will the painted mirko.

God our cars look weird w/o sideskirts
Yeah, butt ugly without the skirts. Tires are in need of replacement and the sidewalls look like crap cause of all the mud I have to drive through getting to and from work.
As for a drop, some days I think it needs it (like today) and other days it seems to look pretty nice, don't know whether its just my mood or what. One thing I know is that I can't get one living where I am now. I just took it out for a spin and scraped it twice, the roads around san diego are nasty.

I refuse to believe your roads are any nastier than detroit, and we've got mirko'd cars all over :)

Well can't say I've ever been to detroit. The problem here is that we have drains which run across the road at intersections and sometimes the drop can be almost 2 feet over say 6. Just enough to point the car right into the bottom of it before it kicks back up. Hell, I've been caught unawares a couple of times and scraped without the mirko.

So the skirts are off to prevent damage, but now the clearance on your front bumper is even less than before?
Mirko was only on cause I was fiiting it. Its off now and won't go back on until I'm finished on this construction site (and its painted :) ).

Incidentally I timed myself last night when I was taking it off. 4 minutes from leaving my lounge room to getting back inside, and I had the brackets connected as well so pretty easy on/off.

if you ditch the brackets you can get it off in about 15 second with the dzus fasterners ... actually ohmo you are defeating the purpose of the dzus fasteners using the brackets

I was thinking the same, why even have the fasteners if you have the brackets

I don't know if I'll use the brackets, but I wanted to fit them up anyway since I have them. Also, the DZUs spread the load a bit better into the bumper imo.
