i just installed a KKM intake on my 98 csvt with 72k miles and now my car is throwin a P402 code. i looked it up and it says "exhaust gas recirculation flow excessive detected". anyone else experience this problem before?
also, my car has been having a bit of a low idle since installing the intake. upon doing a cold start, my cars rpms will be at 1500, which i know is normal, but upon driving the car down the street and coming to a stop, the idle will be at 500-750 rpms before the car is fully warmed up and the idle is a bit rough and the exhaust note sounds a bit irregular as well. anyone know whats goin on with my car?

I've had that code 2x on my SVT, both occurences were fixed by a new DPFE sensor. It's a very easy, relatively cheap ($50?) repair. My most recent replacement was w/ the new(er) plastic sensor, so hopefully that will last me a long time!

Oh yeah, did you reset the PCM after the KKM install?

what is the PCM? im still new to fords, i worked with hondas for four years before i got the svt. i did unplug the battery when i installed the intake, and like reseting the ECU in an integra, i let the car idle for ten minutes to let the computer adjust to the new intake.

PCM Powertrain Control Module, I guess our equivalent of the Integra ECU.

ok, so yes i did recet the PCM when i unplugged the battery, im goin to check the car on friday and i heard that cleaning the EGR(?) may solve the problem.

Maybe, but usually cleaning the EGR is more so related to P0401.

Did you disconnect the negative only, or both the negative and the positive? Some car's PCM, I'm not sure on the Contours, use power from the positive to maintain memory even when the negative is removed. Just a thought, but I'd go with the DPFE sensor if that doesn't work.

Doesn't matter if you remove the positive or negative. Either one opens the circuit and will reset the computer (once the holding capacitor discharges). Applies to all cars.
